Class Action Update

The NY Post is reporting that a "NYC judge tosses suit accusing secret ‘cult’ of using women as unpaid servants"

"The two women filed suit in 2021 claiming that the group – run by one-time actress Sharon Gans Horn who had a small role in “Slaughterhouse-Five” – signed them up as members in 2005 promising to “help improve their lives economically, physically and spiritually,” the court papers alleged. But instead, the duo had to pay a hefty $400 in monthly dues and were forced to work as cooks, cleaners, and recruiters without pay, the suit claimed."

Sounds accurate to me.

  1. I’d love to know the basis of this judge’s decision. Part of the fear of leaving a cult is that no one will believe you were a victim of abuse.

    1. The court wasn't asked to decide whether School is a cult and the decision was based on technical pleading rules. It's being appealed. I can understand how current members are afraid to speak. After all, silence is a condition to membership. I wrote a book about it. Nobody has doubted me.
